Have you tried plugging and unplugging the cable?

Plugging the cable into a different port? into a different computer? a different USB cable?

Does Windows recognize the camera? Is it listed in the Windows Device Manager when the camera is plugged into the PC and powered on?

In BYE, when you are connecting, you are asked to choose from Canon, Canon215, and Canon210. Which option(s) did you choose? For your camera the Canon option should work.

Is the camera in the Manual shooting mode?

If the camera supports WiFi, it should be disabled.

Do you have the Canon EOS utility? If so, does it connect with camera? If the EOS Utility does not connect then neither will BYE. The problem is either Windows (not likely) or the USB port, USB cable, or the camera itself.

All of this has been suggested in previous posts to other newbies who have problems getting connected. Perhaps you may get additional ideas from reading old posts where a new user has a connection problem.
