ISO in Frame and Focus

dpcryer

Question

Am starting using BackyardNikon with my D5100 (hacked firmware so you can change ISO in Liveview) and noticed that when I go into Frame and Focus having just started the program and connected to the camera I only get an ISO choice of 100/400/800/1600, but if I change the ISO the dropdown then changes to include the full set of ISOs (up to Hi-2.0). Does anyone else see this/is it bug?

Go into advanced settings and click Delete Cache Data. Then shutdown BYN and restart it with the camera in Manual mode. It should re-read the complete list of ISO values.

I will also say that non-standard (hacked) firmware can be a problem if it changes how the camera interacts with the SDK. So you may find that you still need to pause LiveView to change the ISO because the hack is not playing nice with the SDK.

Sorry to be so slow trying this out but have tried clearing the Cache Data and it didn't help. Anyhow there's an easy workaround and it is using the hacked firmware so might be behaving a bit differently so I'm not really bothered. Interesting changing ISO in liveview seems to work fine for me even without pausing Liveview but will bear that in mind.

The need to pause for most models, some do not.  Looks like yours do not... or this may be a side effect of the hack firmware you have installed.  It's difficult to say.
