Question

My PC and laptop are both Win 10 64 bit. No problem connecting the camera on the PC but I can't connect on the laptop which I need for a dark sky event.

I only have the program active on one or the other.

I have version 3.1.16 on the laptop and 3.1.17 on the PC and use the same procedure for both. No interference from Canon EOS. I couldn't see V3.1.17 on the download site.

BillChamberlain19. You did not ask a question, but I presume that you need help troubleshooting why BYE will not connect with your camera on you laptop.

First, what camera are you trying to connect with? This information should be included as part of any post. There are a couple of newer cameras that require 3.1.17 RC2, which is in the Pre-Release area on the Downloads tab.

Second, does Windows see the camera (it should be listed as a device in the Windows Device Manager)?

Finally, what error are you getting>? Does if fail right away, or take some time?

In the future  please choose a subject for your post that describes your issue. This makes it easier for others who may have the same issue to find your post, read the thread, and adopt the same solution. Something like "Unable to connect EOS XXXD to BYE 3.1.16" would be appropriate.

Thanks,
