BackyardNIKON BETA 02d is ready for download.

 

I still had some issues with image being downloaded in the TEMP folder but was not copied to your selected download folder.  The bug seems to be related to the new commercial library (GdPicture API) I purchased to load raw images <_ and it seems to be a the heart of several issues including performance issues. in this beta i no longer using gdpicture decided use dcraw load raw image data. have sent build users who repeatably reported with all bug fix so hopeful is now behind me fingers crossed.>

 

Change log (from BETA 02c)

- JPG and RAW images now have the same time stamp

- Using DCRAW to load raw images for stability and performance.

- Minor performance improvement

- Testing on XP, Vista, W7, and W8

 

This BETA 02d will NOT overwrite your current BETA 02c installation.

I don't know what you mean!  BackyardNIKON beta releases come with a built-in license key, they are automatically active. 

 

Yours is not?

Does Nikon even provide an SDK for either Android or iOS ??  Canon only provides their ESDK for Windows (32-bit only) and Mac OSX.

No, they do not... which means I would have to use PTP or something else... which means a complete rewrite... which means it's not for tomorrow or the day after <_>

I'm not suggesting that I'd want to ask you to Dev for Android or iOS.

I was only looking to confirm a Root Platform Deficiency that would provide a concrete reason to defuse further inquiries.

Amongst other things, I don't think that either platform has but 1-2 devices which would even be able to perform at the bare minimum level necessary to realize all the "Goodness" that we have in BYE and BYN.

Nor, if you put your standard level of Quality and Support behind such a product, could you recoup money for your efforts at the standard iTunes /Google Play prices.

I agree, I was just asking because I don't know what limits your ability to port from one platform to the next.

 

It would epic to have an app on my iphone that had a few of the features of the BYN/EOS. I imagine since, at least with Nikon, they have a WIFI app it's 'sortof' possible.

I see that it is not possible to purchase a license yet for this package so how long does the trial period last for?

BETA 02d is good until early September.  I will probably release BETA 02e this week with an extended license.
