32 Bit version on 64 bit Windows

pagarus

Question

I have a Lenovo PC (AMD A8-6410) with 64 bit Windows installed. A look at the About section of Windows settings confirms this, it says: System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor.

But BYE Premium Edition always installs into the Program Files (x86) directory and task manager says:  BinaryRivers.BackyardEOS.Start (32 bit)

It's not great problem. Everything runs and BYE is excellent. Just seems odd that I have a 64 bit system but cannot get the 64 bit of BYE installed.

BYE and BYN use software libraries that are provided by the camera makers. Those libraries are 32-bit and this forces BYE and BYN to be built as 32-bit applications.

This limitation is pretty typical, but as long as Guylain manages the memory footprint of the app, it should continue to work just fine.
