Question

After I downloaded the trial version of Backyard EOS the program immediately recognized my old T3i but when I attacched my SL2 to the computer it told me that my camera is not currently supported by Canon SDK. The error message said "your real model is 2147484695." What is going on?

Which version of the SDK (driver) did you select at connection time? You should use Canon, not Canon210 or Canon215.

I would also say that there is no "trial version" of BYE. Versions of BYE are releases with a number like 3.1.16. You download and install a version of the software and then apply a license to that release to activate certain features. Licenses are Trial, Classic, or Premium.  This is an important distinction to understand because when you purchase a Classic or Premium license, you apply that license key to the existing, already installed, software. There is no need to download new software in order to use the purchased license.
