Zoom Control in Image Center for Premium Version 3.0.3

WILSOLR47

Question

I have just started using the the Premium version 3.0.3 of BYEOS and I am wondering why the zoom control limits me to only two fixed settings. I can have a low zoom setting of 35 or a high zoom setting of 100. I used to be able to zoom to 400x and I used that feature a lot. Is it possible to get more than 100 in this version? If so I have not been able to locate this in Settings or elsewhere in the software.

Thanks for any help you can give me and my apologies if this question has been asked and answered elsewhere in the Forum. I could not seem to find the topic.

Hy Guylain,

Is this function only on the Premium version ? I own the regular version...

I did'nt knew these keyboard functions. But at night, it would be better with a simple portable computer to use as little keys as possible. Cliquing on the screen with the touchpad is easy but finding the page up/down keys may be a little concern. It should be nice to just add the possibility to zoom over 100% on the screen without having to use the mouse wheel of the keyboard : just point & click.

The problem is that the left click event is already used for other functions such as moving the image and the right-click event for the spot histogram.

Actually, for a great number of us - especially while Imaging on Colder Nights when Gloves protect Users from Frost-bitten Fingers - the Keyboard IS the Input Device of Choice.  Touch Screens may soon become more prevalent on the High-End Tablets and Convertible/Hybrid Laptops, but they react poorly through Gloves, as do most TouchPad/MousePad devices.

And there are others who readily use Mice (Wired or BlueTooth, Mechanical or Optical) with their Imaging Rigs, while others eschew those Devices because of the Detrimental Outdoor Environment and/or because of the additional Battery Drain that additional Devices bring.  At the same time, many Laptops have separate Numeric Keypads while others have only the basic QWERTY Keys, and now an additional class of Tablets which only have "Emulated Keyboards".

All of this poses quite a Challenge to Guylain, who needs to Weave the BEST GUI POSSIBLE and do so for the Widest Array of Devices.

For use with Touchscreens or TouchPads, I'd suggest that the Image Zoom functions be mapped to the Pinch/Zoom "Gesture".  Then one can use that to manage the Zoom Factor, and use the existing Left-Click/Drag to Center on the area of interest.

It does not limit you... use the wheel mouse to zoom in/out at will.  The zoom will be centered where your mouse is located, just like google map :)

You can also use page up/down button on your keyboard.

Regards,
