Battery Percentage

bkorcel

Question

I'd really like to see an option to toggle the battery view to show the percentage available rather than the simple bar display that we see currently.  This would help to extrapolate better how many shots I can expect before I need to go switch batteries.  I know it's subjective and other factors can influence the number but I think it would be a useful option.

BYE can only display what is available from the camera. As it turns out, this is of limited usefulness. What, I imagine, we would like to see is a slowly declining percentage value that could be used to estimate how many images can be shot before shutting down. Instead, the value appears to drop by large increments 100 to 80 to 50 to 10, for example. This is not particularly useful.

astroman133 nailed it.  The bars you see *are* the actually segment reported by the camera, it does not get any more detailed that this.  It's even worst with older models where they only have 3 settings; 100, 50, and 0 percent.
