D7000 focusing

 D7000 connected over USB only. AF off (on lens and body). Main dial on M(anual) and S(ingle). Focus and exposure transferred ok but impossible to focus (on inside scene) in LIve view or Imaging mode. Any suggestions ? tx

What do you mean impossible to focus?  Can't focus manually?  Can't see stars?

If the lens is set to MF, then there is no way that BYN can drive the lens. This is how the camera is designed to behave.

Of course .... Lens on M/A is working . Using inside bulbs to focus on but result approximate ; effect will probably be better when using stars (will try tomorrow if no clouds).
