Focusing between image captures

Peter_Myers

Question

Greetings to the BYEOS forum....

I have a question to ask and I'm hoping I'll be able to receive an answer.

Using a Stellarvue SV-80ST as my OTA and a modified cooled Hutech Canon 6D as my DSLR.... once I achieve "initial" focus... is there a means to  refocus during the image capture session if the temperature should drop?

I'm using an OPTEC focus lynx

Looking forward to a response.

If you are asking about automatically re-focusing then the answer is no.

You would need to abort the capture plan. Use Frame & Focus to adjust the focus based on the FWHM or HFD metric. You can avoid slewing to a bright star by using short Snap images of the current FOV for re-focusing. Then go back to the imaging screen and edit the Capture plan to remove or disable images that have already been captured. Then restart the capture plan.
