D5200 Finding Camera

MrWellsy66

Question

Hi

Loaded BackyardNikon and can't seem to find camera from computer. Connected DSUSB and camera cable back to USB, turned on camera, waited 10 seconds fired up BackyardNikon and waited for things to initialize and then attempted to connect to camera and it's not found, what might i be doing wrong ?

22:08:17  Camera Not Found!  Make sure it's connected to the PC and turned ON :)

Both cables connected and camera turned on battery full power and memory card out.

Thanks

Craig

Try rebooting your computer, this should reset your windows/nikon drivers... which i think is the cause.

I have the same problem than yours with my D90 (Laptop Acer W8.1 x64).

I already asked for some advices on a French forum (WebAstro), and my doubt was on the USB cable extension I was using.

In fact, it is not the case.

I installed other software like "DCamCapture" & "DSLR Shutter" and it tooks about 3 mins before it starts.

Then I launched BYN and it works correctly !

I tried also on another computer W8.1 x32 : same problem.

I dowloaded an other software named DigiCamControl which is not directly dedicated for AP (I'm not sure that it can make Bulb control whith my D90, until I don't have SteveRoseNow cable...).

BUT with this soft : less than 2s to initiate my D90 !

After that, BYN found the D90 and I can discover some function very interesting like FWMH,...

Right now I'm not confident in BYN, I cannot prey each time I connect my D90 ...

If it can help...

Didier

See this post I made a few minutes ago.

Although not a D5200, the issue is the same I believe <_>
