Canon 77D support?

Guest Pat Hanrahan

Question

Guest Pat Hanrahan

When will the new Canon 77d model be supported?  The T7i is essentially the same camera and both were recently released.

:DAh, now I get it.  I had to go into Advanced Settings and tell BYEOS to ask for the drivers and then restart it.  After that I saw the selections and chose the right one.  Everything seems to be working fine now.

I must have told BYEOS not to ask for it again after selecting drivers for my older camera.

thanks,

Al

It would appear that the SDK is now available at https://www.developersupport.canon.com/

I read the following:

"EOS SDK v3.6 is now available.
Support added for the EOS Rebel T7i and EOS 77D."

Any idea when we might see this available within BYEOS?

thanks,

Al

Did you try it?

This has been implemented in August 2017 with the release of 3.1.13.

Yes I have that version (3.1.16).  It connects fine to my T2i and the 77D connects to the EOS utility, which I loaded to hopefully get the correct drivers as I could not find any link to download just the drivers.  When I try to connect the log says:

Attempting to connect camera...

Canon drivers 'Canon215\' initialized.

DEVICE DESCRIPTION IS Canon EOS77D

DEVICEINFO NUMBER IS 3470492101.

YOUR *REAL* MODEL NUMBER IS 4294967294(FFFFFFFE)

Generic model 153 is assumed!

I can see the camera under Devices and Printers (Windows 10) but not in Device Manager.  I don't let the EOS Utility run on start up and it is not running.  Any help would be appreciated.

Al
