reinstallation

Question

Wondering how I can do a reinstallation.  I did an uninstall procedure and that worked.  Afterwards I went and deleted the directory where BYEOS is installed.

I than ran the executable file to do the installation and it came up with my serial number and data.

 

What other files do I need to delete to make sure the reinstallation is a pure clean re-install??

If you really want a clean install you need in reinstall in a new folder.

 

OK. Thanks.  I wanted to re-install the program to get rid of any reference to ascom programs llike focusers or telescopes.

I still see those plugins are still there.  As well as my registration is still in place.  I thought I would had to reinstall my key.

Still learning I guess.

Ooops.  I see also now,  that my key in no longer valid.  It says to contact  you to continue.  Wow what a day..

ASCOM device registration is separate from BYE, so re-installing BYE will not change those lists of devices.

In addition, the trial license and the Premium license include ASCOM connectivity so if you have one of those licenses the ASCOM device buttons at the top of the BYE window will always display. If you don't want to use that functionality then just ignore the displayed controls.

What did you do to cause the key not valid warning? Whatever you do, don't create a new account on the web site to get a new trial key. This is a HUGE no-no.

Your key is still active, I just tried it and it validated.

Are you using it the the latest version of BackyardEOS 3.1.10.  Trial keys will only work with the latest.

Yes.  I have using version 3.1.10.

And here is what the error says:

---------------------------------------------

X License fault error!

(s:INACTIVE} - The key provided has expired, been deactivated, or has not been activated yet.

Please contact us.  "

------------------------------------------------
