BYEOS gets stuck while taking photo

Eyal1971

Question

Hi.

I connect my Canon 760D to the Laptop via the USB cables required.

Since there is some distance betwenn the laptop and the Scope, I use another extension USB connector (longer cable) between the Camera, USB cable and Lap Top.

The BYEOS comes up nicely and the system recognizes my DSLR.

I press the Focus baton on the screen and then the Film Baton and then capture baton.

It takes a photo and then get stuck, the screen will become whitish and I would need to Reboot the laptop.

Last night the software was erased automatically from my computer (or maybe I should say - the BYEOS icon was no longer operative and finally disappeared from the screen.

I had to download the software again.

Any Ideas?

Is it just bad USB/Cable connection?

Thank's

Eyal,

I understand that you want to operate with some distance between the camera and the PC, but for testing, I would suggest connecting the devices with only the short USB cable to see how things behave. Once you are convinced that it works well, then add the extension cable.

If the extension cable does not work, then I would say that you have found the problem. If/when you get a replacement, be sure to get a good quality cable.
