Can't connect to D810. Running Win10 on VMWare on a Mac

I cannot connect to my D810.  I know the cable is good because Nikon Camera Control running natively on the Mac can connect just fine.  Is there any issue running BYN under a VM?

Make sure that you configure VMware to make the Mac's USB ports available to Windows.

That is done, and the "Nikon D810" port is showing as connected in the USB & Bluetooth entry of the Virtual Machine menu.

Does Windows see the camera?

Yes.  "NIKON DSC D810" shows up in the little bar across the top of the screen when I plug the camera in.

Do you have an SD card in the camera?

I have tried it with and without a card in the camera.  It doesn't connect either way.

OK, I just got it to work by selecting the "Nikon 2015" option during connect - even though the camera was purchased in Nov 2016 and its firmware is up to date.

This is a hit and miss and just a suggestion.  Glad you got it to work.
