Error message after image download

Strix

Question

I'm getting this error message after each image taken. It appears just after an image has been downloaded and the aqusition of the next one is started. It says "Runtime error 217 at 500E8338". I'm getting the option to click an OK-button and I do so. Then it seems ok. But if I don't then I lose the image. Kind of frustrating. I'm running BYEOS on windows 10. How do I get rid of this annoying error/message?

It is hard to say, a virus, even removed, may leave to evidence that it was there.

Yes, uninstall BYE, redownload, and reinstall is a separate folder.

You may also want to install on a different computer and see if you get the same error.

Every time I try to download BYEOS, My Windows defender alerts me to an infected Trojan within the program and aborts the installation.  The Trojan is Win32/Fuery.B!cl.  It is listed as a severe threat which needs immediate removal.  Any ideas?

This thread is about a problem downloading images from BYE to the camera when the PC was already infected by a Trojan.

Your problem seems different. You should start a new thread rather than add an additional problem to this old one.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials, which includes the capabilities of Windows Defender, on my Windows 7 PCs. It does not report a problem with BYE 3.1.8.

As rick said, start a new thread, your issue is not even remotely related to this conversation.

Please run a full scan on yoru pc, it looks to me like you are already infected and that virus is infecting your downloads.

I did have a trojan hiddeen on my hard drive, but my virus software managed to remove it. Checked also with another virus tool and none of them could find any infected files. But I still suffer from this error message when BYEOS is trying to download an image. Could there be some kind of a damage on my installation from this trojan that now is removed? Maybe I should try de-installing and the re-install BYEOS?
