Dithering?

cmjrff

Question

Dear Group,

Are there any adjustments as to the amount of dithering that happens as lights are taken?  And if so, should I consider anything other than the default settings?  I saw a presentation about image processing that stressed dithering as so crucial.  And in the presentation, it was stated that it's important that the dithering distance is sufficient enough.  I wondered if anything like that was dependent on the specific camera and if I should make any adjustments in backyardeos?  Thank you for any suggestions or information.
Charles

PS: This is an awesome program and I'm enjoying it a lot.

Are you familiar with guiding, by that I mean you got this mastered?

If no I recommend you get familiar with guiding before you add the complexity of dithering.

While it is true that dithering is important, any amount of dithering is better than none.  Get familiar with the default settings first then play with one setting at a time and observe the difference before changing another setting.   I find the default setting will work with most setup.

Thank you to both for the quick responses.  I believe I am doing well with guiding.  Just new to Backyardeos.  I am new to dithering and the how-to was helpful.  For now I'll stick with the defaults and possibly change things as I move on.  Many thanks to all.
