BYEOS Error

wedgef5

Question

On my first real trial of BYEOS the other night with my 450D, I was getting this error when trying to start an imaging run...

ERROR EDS_ERR_INTERNAL_ERROR : EDSDK.EdsSendCommand(CameraRef, 2, 0)

A quick Google search yielded a handful of results, and I checked all of the things that had been suggested: made sure the dial was on 'M', mirror lockup disabled, etc.  Nothing worked.  Guylain's posts suggested that the error was occurring when BYEOS was trying to command the camera to Bulb, so I used EOS Utility to put the camera into Bulb "manually", returned to BYEOS and everything worked normally.   :)

I'm wondering if there is anything else I can do to make BYEOS not throw this error when commanding the camera to Bulb.  Obviously, I have a viable workaround, but I'm not fond of workarounds.

Thanks!

Matt

Which SDK (Driver) did you choose when you connected? I would suggest using Canon215.

i am confused about what you mean when you say "put the camera into Bulb". The 450D does not have a Bulb mode like other camera models. Bulb is just an exposure setting where the camera controls the shutter.

So do other functions work correctly? Non-bulb exposures? LiveView?

What happens if you use the camera's exposure control to set the exposure to Bulb, while connected to BYE?

Hi Rick,

I did choose the Canon215 driver.

Yes, I meant "switch the camera to Bulb exposure".  Sorry for the confusion.

All other functions of the camera appear to work normally.

I will have to try switching the camera while BYEOS is running and see what happens.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Does it happen all the time?

Hi Guylain,

I have only had that one session.  I'll try it again with an "indoor session", as clouds are plaguing us again!

I did, during that last session, try exiting and restarting BYEOS and turning the camera off and back on with no success.
