Sorry, but for someone who may read this thread in the future "the latest version" is vague, the current version of BYE is 3.1.8.

 

After connecting the camera to the PC and powering the camera on, does Windows list the camera as an imaging device in the Windows Device Manager?

 

If not, then it is likely that the correct low-level driver is missing. This can happen as a result of upgrading Windows to Win 10 from Win 7 or 8. The fix is to install the software on the CD that came with the camera. That will help in any case because the next step after that is to try to connect the Canon EOS Utility with the camera. If the EOS Utility doesn't connect then neither will BYE.
