Need help conecting Canon EOS 100D

rob.davies@devilsbridge

Question

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have downloaded the trial version of BYE 3.1.3 and I cant conect my camera, Canon EOS 100D. I think I have followed all the instructions but I cant find the comunication set up in the cameras menu or the Print / PTP setting. I assume the 100D does not have these options in it menu's. The BYE program constantly shows that it is trying to connect to the camera. Any help would be much appreciated.

Version 3.1.3 is over 18 months old. Did you mean to type 3.1.8? Support for new cameras is added over time, so you should be using the latest to be sure that your camera is supported.

What version of Windows are you running? Are you running in a VM on a Mac?

All you should have to do is connect the USB cable that came with the camera to a PC and turn it on. At this point you should hear the sound effect from Windows that it has recognized the camera and installed the device driver. You should find the camera listed in the Windows Device Manager as a known device..

Start BYE, Click on the Connect and choose Canon as the SDK and you should connect.

If this doesn't work, you should install the Canon EOS Utility application from the CD disk that came with the camera. Try to connect with it.  If that doesn't work then there is some kind of system issue that is preventing both applications from connecting to the camera.
