Hi all,

When setting up Astrotoaster should I get images from the BackyardNikon subfolder or the BackyardTemp subfolder? Not sure what the purpose of each subfolder is

Never use BackyardTEMP folder... this is an internal folder and files are there only as a temporary measures.  While in that folder BYE/BYN expects the files to be 100% available to BYE/BYN and unaltered by any external apps... even in reading mode because that may place a file lock on it and BYE/BYN can fail.

 

Once BYE/BYN is 100% done with the file it is moved to your selected download folder.  Once the file ends up in your download folder you can do whatever you want with it.

I hadn't encountered AstroToaster before...  Looks like an interesting alternative to DSSLive!!

 

But, as with DSSLive, I wouldn't be able to use it for Battery Life considerations during any AP Imaging Session at a Remote Dark Site without AC Power...

 

What are your experiences with AstroToaster??
