Canon lens won't focus thru BackyardEOS

SixPackAxe

Question

Canon T2i and Canon 70-300 lens is responsive to the focusing buttons in "frame and focus" mode until I take a snap image to frame

my target. The lens won't focus thru BYEOS after that. I have to switch to manual focusing on the camera. Is anyone having the same problem?

Go the log files.

I see no evidence that driving the lens causes the behavior you are seeing.

However, you camera issued a shutdown command.  This can be cause by a faulty cable/connection or perhaps you have your camera set to auto shutdown after 30 minutes of inactivity.  If you have your camera set to auto shut down please disable this feature.

If could also be caused by your computer (or hard disk) going to sleep/hibernate.  Please make sure your computer does not go to sleep/hibernating.

Keep us posted.
