D7100 Not Connecting

Question

I am a new user and have just installed version 1.05.  When I try to connect my D7100 I get the message - not connected.  The camera is fully charged, there are no images on the camera, and the computer (Windows 10 64 bit) recognizes the camera when the usb cable is plugged in>  Any help appreciated.

If the D7100 has a PC communication menu, make sure it is not set to PTP mode.

 

How long is your usb cable?  Is it plugged in a usb hub or directly in the usb computer port?
