Nikon 5300

Astromaniac

Question

Hi All,

Couldn't find an answer to this question. I had to re-install windows 7 after a crash and now BackyardNikon doesn't connect to the camera. Windows sees it and can access it. What am I missing? I don't remember what I did originally. Can't find a driver for the camera and I understand that I don't need one. Is that correct? You advice is appreciated.

Cheers,

John

Is the camera communication menu set to PTP?

I'm almost ready to release BYN 1.0.5 with a new set of Nikon SDK files, send me an email at support@otelescope.com and I'll send you the download links.  I'm curious to see if Nikon addressed all those connection issues in their new SDK.

G'Day Guy,

Thanks for replying. I couldn't find the communication menu on the D5300. With my old D70 it was there. I went through the manual and I didn't find any reference to PTP. I might have missed it. I'll email you at support@otelescope.com.

Cheers,

John

G'Day Guys,

Guylain has kindly given me to test BYN ver. 105. As soon as I installed it, it worked like a charm. I'm a happy man. :D  Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post AND a big thank you to Guylain for so promptly coming up with the solution.

Cheers,

John
