Set up with Astrotortilla

BillC

Question

I am using astrotortilla but in open file dialog mode. I have never quite got it right with byeos and AT working automatically. The two are connected to each other but AT doesn't seem to pick up the image. That's why I use in file dialog and by that method everything else works OK.

AT triggers BYE to take the image but then just doesn't pick up the image long after BYE has taken it and saved it. There must be a setting somewhere that I am missing.

Any ideas anybody?

Bill,

The setup is pretty simple and if AT is triggering BYE to take the image then it appears you have the setup correct.

While the image is being captured AT is polling BYE to ask if the image is available.

BYE should save the JPG image to a file in your Download folder and the next time AT asks, BYE says Yes the image is available.  Then AT asks for the directory path of the image.

You should see the JPG image files in your download folder.  This can be confirmed by looking at the BYE log files.  The AT event logger should also provide information about that half of the process.

Without the log files it is not easy to tell what is going wrong. I have not used it much lately, but this has always worked flawlessly for me.

I have downloaded the update but not yet installed it so I'll do that.

As Astroman states, do I have to set directories in both BYE and AT that are to same for them to run automatically and exchange images?

When I did setup in AT there was no option to set an image source directory for BYEos as a camera option, only port number and address. Does it use the directory stated in the config file to exchange images? In which case I would need to set BYE to send files to that same folder.

Bill,

Be sure to upgrade to the current release and if the issue is still happening you should follow the instructions here --> https://www.otelescope.com/index.php?/topic/893-how-to-submit-log-files-for-troubleshooting-an-issue/#entry10186.

If upgrading fixes the issue, you should update this thread and mark Guylain's email with the upgrade suggestion as the "best answer".

Thanks,
