D300 connection problem

mrwx

Question

I just downloaded the trial version of BYN.  I can't get my D300 to connect. I tried changing the USB setting but that didn't help. I updated the D300 firmware but that didn't help either. I'm running Windows 7 on an iMac using Parallel. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Marv

Well, upgrading the firmware will prevent the camera to connect.  This is because Nikon changed their firmware but did not upgrade the SDK and as a result any cameras with the upgraded firmware will not connect.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel however, Nikon just released new SDKs yesterday (March 17th 2016) and I now need to download them and try to make them work.  Only then will we know if the new SDK fixes this issue.

:(

There are several posts where people have updated the camera firmware and have broken BYN.  Apparently Nikon is addressing the issue.  Until they release a fix there is nothing that BYN can do.

This does not cause connection issues, however, but does cause imaging problems.

You need to make sure that Windows sees the camera in the Device Manager. Your problem is likely that Parallels is not exposing the Mac's USB ports to Windows.
