40d - No Focus or Planetary

peje

Question

Been using BYN with my D7100 for 6 months without issue. I bought a 40d to astromod and wanted to test it out before I butcher it.

BYE connects fine and imaging module works without issue. When I click 'Frame & Focus' or 'Planetary' I get a string of 'Parameter is not valid' errors in the log and neither module will work. I have included the logs, the latest one is prob the best one to look at.

I've assumed I'm doing something wrong but I've no idea what it could be.

Does LiveView work on the camera's LCD display when not connected to the PC?  If not then Guylain is right...LiveView must be enabled in the camera.

One thing that I can also see is that LiveView Exposure Simulation is turned off.  You want that on/enabled.

What service!!! You were correct, all working now. No excuses left to avoid stripping it.

Also, thanks very much.

lol, now spread the word :)

Glad you got it to work.  And I will say that the 40D is the most tested camera because it was my 40D back in 2008 (or 2009) that started BackyardEOS... and I probably took over 20,000 pictures during development and testing with my old trusty 40D.

Regards,
