What version did you install? If someone looks at your post a year from now "the latest" will be different. This is why the admins request that you ALWAYS provide the complete version of BYN when you ask a question or report an issue. See the orange banner at the top of this page.

Nikon made a decision a while ago that new camera models would only be supported in the 64-bit release of their SDK. This forced O'Telescope to port BYN to a 64-bit application. If you go back to the BYN Supported Cameras list on the web site and look at the Z8 row closely you will see that it is only compatible with the 64 bit version of BYN. If you installed BYN 2.1.3, it is a 32-bit app and is not compatible with the 64-bit Nikon SDK. The 64-bit version is only available from the Pre-Release section of the BYN downloads page as BYN 3.5.0.RC9 x64.

I hope this helps.

Thank you Astroman133 and Admin. Very helpful. I missed the details. As I have gotten older, I am less likely to think about pre release and beta release versions as fun challenges and more likely to stick to standard versions. But, for this, I will try the pre release version.

Thank you, Bruce
