D7000 DSUSB

J410

Question

do i have to use a DSUSB cable to use software or can i just use intervalometer to control my shutter.

had a D3100 and just recently bought D7000 for 350$ would like to get another 30 days as i did not check to see if camera was on the list. would like to try out

MyD7000 without the cable to turn on bulb i would select on camera and try with intervalometer instead.

Too bad you didn't buy a used newer camera that supports BULB over USB and so does not need a DSUSB cable.

The purpose of the DSUSB cable with older cameras is to allow BYN to control the shutter for BULB exposures.

You can try BYN with your D7000 and as long as you shoot non-BULB exposures less than 30 seconds, it should work just fine.

I do not know how you could synchronize BYN with the intervalometer to get a fair test of BYN.

Hi, you should be able to use an intervalometer, but you would lose the ability to use the BYN capture plan. BYE will download images taken with an intervalometer when the camera is also connected to BYE.... but BYN behaves differently, and may or may download images taken by an external intervalometer, not sure if the D7000 is one of them.

I just archived your trial key.  Go ahead and add it again to your cart and proceed to checkout for a second 30-day trial.
