Canon R5 Mark II

jsniel

Question

I just purchased your software again, to load onto another computer.  The second purchase was because I couldn't find the key for the first purchase.  Anyway, your software is not allowing me to connect to my Mark II camera.  Is there a fix for this issue?  If not, i would like a refund.

Let me know and thanks.

Steve

If your question is about BYE and your Canon camera you should post it to the BackyardEOS Forum.

Someone else posted a question about BYE and a 5D Mk II last month. It was connecting for him but he had a question about how it was behaving. He sent a log file, but the thread died with no reply from the developers about the cause or additional troubleshooting suggestions. This is not normal.

Also, it is up to you to remember the username that you were logged in with when you got your original license. With that info you can reset your password, if necessary and can see your licenses on this web site under My Purchases | Orders. If you got a license for the new installation of BYE there is no way they will issue you a refund since there is no way to definitively return the license key that was issued to you.

When posting an issue you should also provide the version of BYE that you are using!!!

The R5 Mk II is not yet supported in the latest BYE.

Absolutely no refund on software keys once they are issued, this is clearly stated on the return policy page, and it is in part for this reason we have a 30-day free trial to try it out before you buy.

The R5 Mk II should be supported in time.

Regards,

This said, when you connect your R5 Mk II camera, you should get something similar to this in the message centre.

2024-08-27 20:12:30,252 [Main] INFO - DEVICEINFO DESCRIPTION IS Canon EOS R100
2024-08-27 20:12:30,257 [Main] INFO - DEVICEINFO NUMBER IS 3470492101.
2024-08-27 20:12:30,263 [Main] INFO - YOUR *REAL* MODEL NUMBER IS 4294967294(FFFFFFFE)

Send me those numbers, I need it to register the camera model in BYE.

Thank you.
