Question

is there a windows 10 setting issue?  I've updated all, have latest Nikon Backyard (including pre release).  when i start up, camera can not be found by NBY.  Nikon tether works fine.  in the pre release version, the z8 and 9 boxes are not available as choices.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nikon made a decision to only support new cameras in the 64-bit version of their SDK. This affects the Z8. Since BYN uses the Nikon SDK to control the camera the developers of BYN had to design a 64-bit version of that application.

In the Pre-Release download area there are both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of BYN 3.5.0. To use BYN with the Z8 you need to download BYN 3.5.0.RC8 x64.

I do not know about the Z9. It could be that no other Nikon user has asked about it prior to you. There may be information in the archives of this forum.

As suggested above, you need to download the 64 bits version. In fact, I will discontinue the 32 bits version when I promote 3.5 to release status, will probably do so for both BYN and BYE.
