Trial keys are not sent to you. This information was provided from the O'Telescope store when you got the Trial key.

License keys are always available on this web site after you login with the same username that you used to "purchase" the key. Just scroll to the top of this web page and click on My Purchases -> Orders  on the blue menu bar. Then Copy the key to the Windows Clipboard and Paste it into the License Key field in the BYE or BYN license validation dialog. The Identifier is your username.

I should also say that when you go to the O'Telescope Store to get a Trial license, there will be no cost AND you will not be asked to provide a credit card. Here is some important information that may be useful to you.

  1.  I would caution you to wait to get the license until you are able to devote the time to actually use BYN. The license only lasts for 30 days from the date that you are given the license key.
  2. When you use a Trial license, BYN requires an Internet connection every time that you startup the app. This is needed to allow BYN to verify that the Trial license has not expired. You are encouraged to test BYN and learn how to use it with your laptop and camera on your kitchen table. This way you will have an internet connection and be able to ask questions about its behavior. It also avoids wasting precious dark skies while fumbling in the dark with how to use BYN.
  3. Windows 7 and earlier are no longer supported and it is likely that the license validation process will fail due to out-of-date Windows security software that is used for license validation on Windows 7 and earlier.
  4. There are some pre-release versions of BYN that you may need. One of them is BYE 3.5.0.RC7 (32-bit) and the other is3.5.0.RC8 x64. The 64-bit version supports newer cameras that Nikon only supports in their SDK that BYN uses. The Z8 is one of them. Going forward support for new Nikon models will only be provided in the 64-bit version of their SDK. This means that 32-bit versions of Windows and BYN will not be able to support cameras that Nikon releases only in the 64-bit version of their SDK.

I hope this helps.
