BYEOS 3.2.3 keeps freezing

rapoker

Question

tried different cables, different usb ports, tried connecting the camera directly to the usb, tried the motherboard usb and the pci usb. i start byeos, tried shooting pictures or capturing videos and they all freeze after a certain amount of time. everything works fine, but after some time it just freezes and the camera either goes to sleep or freezes. i have to turn off and on the camera and force shutdown BYEOS. other usb devices keep working normally

It would help tu understand what you are trying to do.

From the latest log file it appears that you are have captured several planetary images with 10 images per AVI file. This is unusual. It is more common to capture several, up to 1000, frames per AVI file.

It appears that the last thing that you did was to abort the Planetary Image capture. Can you please provide more information?

oh sorry, those were just test , not an actual capture plan. i was just not trying to fill up my storage with useless frames while i tested the set up. it is been cloudy for dies and on Sunday i have a brief window to actually use the set up. i have never had problems in my laptop, and i have been trying to make it work on my Desktop. before upgrading to windows 11, my usb ports disconnected briefly randomly, but after the upgrade i have noticed it has stopped. i bought a ankler 7 port usb hub for the laptop because i needed more usb ports and a usb PCI card for the desktop to try workaround the usb issue from before. so far in every configuration everything works fine except the BYEOS. i have tried just leaving it in frame and focus, to taking test light pictures to test video frames and it always ends up freezing. also the log with time 17hr38m is more representative of the problem, i have any of this helps.

Frame and focus = live view = camera heat build up over time = camera shutdown = bye disconnect.

Don't stay in live for extended period of time, this causes the camera to heat up and it will shutdown, it's a camera protection feature, and when the camera shuts down like this it's a fatal error for any software, including BYE.

To prevent overheating when in Planetary mode, Pause LiveView by pressing the LiveView button so that you see the triangle instead of the vertical bars. This pauses it. When paused, the sensor stops generating heat.

Even if the sensor does not overheat, LiveView may shut down if it has been used continuously for at least 30 minutes. Pausing it will help here, too.
