Problem with Canon 6D images

headdown

Question

Hello from west end Ottawa,

I am a new user of BYEOS, and so far I am very impressed.  I do have one problem though, but the good news is I think I also know the solution.  I just need it implemented. :) I have just gone through this same issue with Sequence Generator Pro, so I will link to that discussion rather than repeat it.  The problem is the very same as it was with SGP.  A black bar on the left and top of the images.  They are not present when I use my Canon 60Da, but are there when I use the 6D.  The problem at SGP turned out to be an outdated dcraw file.  Once they updated that, the bars were gone.  Could it be the same problem with BYEOS?  Here is the link to the discussion and solution of the  issue at SGP.  Thanks for any help!

Dean

Hello from Ottawa East end, it's a small world :)

It is possible as I too use DCRAW to display images on screen.

The good news it that in BYE this is only used for display purposes.  You actual raw file (.cr2) is unaffected, it remains untouched.

I'll look into compiling a newer version of DCRaw in a future release for sure.

Regards,

While one would assume that any Camera supported by BYE/BYN via the SDKs would also be supported by the Compiled version of DCRAW, the PREVIEW Feature might be used to open Image Files of a Camera not yet Supported by that version of DCRAW.

Perhaps the Log File could have a line that details the DCRAW Version when Preview Mode is initiated??
