Nikon Z6II LiveView not showing in Frame & Focus, Parameter is not valid

This problem has been reported on other threads as recent as this past spring.  Did anyone resolve this for Nikon Z6II?  I've tried all the options previously suggested.

I'm not the OP but I had the same problem and the 2024-03-05 version above fixed the problem on my Z6II.

My Z6II works with the RC7x64 release but my settings aren't saved from run to run. Am I doing something wrong?

What settings are not being saved? Values set on the Settings and Advanced Settings screens? Some settings, like Capture Plan settings are not saved unless you explicitly save the plan (requires a Premium license) while others are read from the camera.

This is usually caused by a Windows update messing up the Windows access. 

Try running the app with Admin privileges and see if this works.

If running as Admin fixes it, let us know that also. IF you intend on using the ASCOM connectivity features on BYN, do not continue to run as Admin as it can cause other ASCOM-connected apps to fail in strange ways.

Re saving settings: Yes, I'm referring to the Settings menu off the main screen such as filename template (I have a premium license). I have to run as administrator to change any setting. Running w/o administrator shows the settings as last set when run w/ admin but loses any changes. These results were w/ BYN 3.5.0 RC8.

It seems like the Windows file permissions on the folder where the settings are saved are not as expected and are preventing BYN from saving the settings.

There are tools, available via an internet search, that can be used to reset those permissions, but you have to know which folder tree needs to be reset. I do not know where BYN's settings files so cannot help with that.

Another person had the same issue with BYE (unable to save Settings). He worked around it by re-installing BYE to a different folder. Since BYE and BYN have the same codebase, it is worth a try for you to do the same.
