D80 Connectivity Issues

I just installed Backyard Nikon and attempted to connected my D80, but it fails every time. Despite this, the computer can connect with the camera and classify it as a Mass Storage drive. I am using a usb cable to connect the camera to my computer, and I am using BackyardNikon on Windows 10 in Vista Compatability mode SP2. Are there any possible issues with my setup that blocks the connectivity between Backyard Nikon and my camera?

It will not work as a mass storage device.  Did your D80 came a cd containing drivers?

The D50, D60, D70, and D80 are not supported

Hello D80 User,

Goto D80 Menu->System->USB-> and Change to PTP Mode.

BackyardNikon does not support PTP mode. It only works with camera models for which Nikon provides a Software Development Kit. Nikon does not provide an SDK for the D80.

 

Trust the camera support grid when it says that a camera is "NOT SUPPORTED"!

the original Menu label is "MTP/PTP" whatever this mean.

My camera is a Nikon D80 Firmware 1.10

My BackyardNikon 1.0.3

Settings: "Vista" Mode

- it works

 

Yes, the camera grid says "NOT SUPPORTED"

- use the free Trail before purchase.
