BYN and Windows 11

vidrazor

Question

Does BYN have any issues with Windows 11? I have version 2.1.3 installed on Win 7, 10, and now 11 machines, and the Win 7 and 10 machines can control my Nikon 1 V3, as per the interface Guylain had developed for it, but on Win 11 it can't control the V3. I can only live view with the V3. I installed a more recent version of BYN on the Win 11 machine and had the same issue (the particular V 2.1.3 was an RC version Guylain had sent me that can control the V3).

Any info as to how to get BYN to control the V3 on Win 11 is appreciated, thanks.

Yes, I found the problem. For some reason the version 2.1.3 I installed was not an RC. I went back through my emails and found the link to the RC version and installed it.

All is good now.

Curious tho, why do newer versions not recognize the V3? Granted, 2.1.3 does what I need, but I thought you would've incorporated the driver.

Thanks.

My mistake, I thought there were newer versions of BYN because I confused the version number of BYE. However I had a non-RC 2.1.3 installed that didn't say RC and couldn't control the V3, so I dunno how I wound up with that. Perhaps it was 2.1.2 and I confused them.

All 2.1.3 are RC (for Release Candidate). I have not promoted any of the 2.1.3 RC to full release, so all 2.1.3 as of today have been nothing but RC.
