D7100 Connection Issues in W10

Shelster1973

Question

Have downloaded and upgraded my W7 Pro laptop to W10 and all appeared fine, until I went to capture some data last night.

BYN opens correctly but flatly refuses to connect to my D7100.  I tried different USB ports and still no joy.  W10 recognises the camera and I am able to navigate and explore the camera contents, but no connection to BYN.

I tried unistalling my version of BYN (1.0.0) and then re-installing the latest version (1.0.2) and that did not resolve the problem.

The only way I could get a connection was to roll back to W7 Pro and all worked great as it had done in the past.

Any ideas as to what the issue may be and how to resolve it?

I'm not home right now, let me try my D810a and my D7000 on W10 later today and reporting if they work.  My W10 installation is a new install, not an upgrade, thought that should not make any difference.

Both my D810a and D7000 connected just fine on a new W10 install (not an upgrade)

For the D7000 I had to let Windows install the drivers when I fist connected the camera for the first time.

Are you still having issues?

Have managed to get it back up and did connect this time.

However feel that W10 is still far too buggy to be used reliably atm.

Had to abort the imaging session last night as when I checked and the capture was saying on image 10 of 25 there was only 2 of the images appearing in the preview area.  Feel this was down to W10 loosing the connetion to my NAS where I store the images after capture.

Have now rolled back and will not be going back to W10 on the laptop for a good few months yet.
