On the other hand, think of the Cumulative impact on Shutter Counts.

The Authors report 4600 Images across just 3 months - and likely that was just a single Target FOV for their Study.

Anyone doing this "full-time" would do so year-round and likely have 3-4 Target FOVs since they could only get accurate measurements when the Target is near the Meridian (Seeing and Extinction destroying any Accuracy nearer the Horizon).

My 550D has almost 50K Shutter Actuations logged, and my average is 1 night per New Moon...
