Classic vs. pro edition?

Just finished up my 30 day trial and am looking to purchase the program this evening. My question is, does the pro program offer any usable advantages to an amateur user with a modest telescope and DSLR? I mainly do planetary imaging, but this winter will probably take a crack at deep sky objects. Also, if I buy the classic version, can I later upgrade to the pro edition for the cost difference? Thanks!

I had looked at the compare editions bit, but was looking for some input from some folks on which they use and if they find any of the pro tools useful.

So yeah, I use most of the Pro features and find them very useful and worth every penny!

 

I probably would have lost interest in the whole hobby by now if it wasn't for plate solving with AstroTrotilla. That saves so much time and contorting to look in finders, etc.

Items like ASCOM telescope and Focuser control, drag and drop image viewing, load/save capture plan, AstroTortilla integration, half flux diameter focus metric, the complex drift align reticle are all features that I have used when I use BYE.
