Wifi up until now is only for image download, not for controlling the camera so the short answer is no.  However, if Canon supports controlling the camera over wifi is tethered shooting then this would come free to BackyardEOS because it connects to the SDK.  Hope this makes sense.

Actually, I am in the process of implementing full wifi control of my setup (CGEM, Neximage5/Orion SSAG/ZWO ASI/Canon/Nikon Cameras/USB Focuser via an IOGEAR 4 port USB Wireless Sharing Station.  It appears to work very well, and I connect all the devices to a small unpowered USB hub, velcro'd to the side of the 925 Edge SCT OTA.

Palinkas,

You misunderstood the post...Some Canon models have WiFi support built-in.  The question was whether the BYE will take advantage of that WiFi support.  The reply was that since BYE communicates with the camera via the Canon SDK that BYE will support direct WiFi to whatever extent the Canon SDK allows.

Good luck with implementing your Wireless USB solution.  Just know that many star parties do not allow equipment control via WiFi because of the limited number of WiFi channels that they have available in the observing fields.  This means that you need a wired solution, as well. I use a USB Cat5 extender that seems to work well and I only need a single wire from my scope to the PC.
