Question

Good evening, I have the camera connected, but i cannot get a live view from it, on the older drivers it shows a black screen but does not lock the program up but under the new drivers when i go to live view it says invalid parameters, I have the camera set to M, could you please help, i really liek the idea of this program and really want to get it to work, I am using the trial version at present to learn it. just to add, I am running windows 11, the program also seems to lock up for no reason and i have to close it with task manager, I am connect with digi iii and usb, when i request the program takes a picture it does fine, so the camera is being controlled, but i am lost as to why no live preview and locks up on me, i also have the most updated eos utilities installed.

Sorry, but what is "digi iii"?

Does the 1000D work with the Canon EOS Utility? Both BYE and the EOS Utility use the Canon EOS SDK software library to control the cameras, so if one works the other should. You just have to make very sure that the EOS Utility is not connected when you try to connect BYE, and vice versa.

BYE freezes are often due to faulty cables with intermittent connection. Even a momentary connection loss causes the Canon SDK to hang, which causes BYE to hang. Make sure that you test BYE with a short cable, known to be good, at the kitchen table with a lens on the camera.

Do you see BYE freeze right after getting the  "invalid parameters" error? Others have gotten that error with no ill effects. Everything still works. I would make sure that your cabling is reliable to eliminate freezing.

If you have the camera connected to a telescope, LiveView will be dark. Only the moon and the brightest stars will show, even with the ISO set to max. The stars will be very small and easy to miss, even with good focus. If the scope is way out of focus you will just see an empty screen.

Its ok I sorted it, I ticked Processor Infinity in advanced settings and restarted the program, it all then came to life. I guess a little trial and error is required sometimes, I think the cable is fine because all my problems disappeared after I ticked, but thanks for your help.
