Debug BYE application quit mid session

Tbar23

Question

Last night I started a session around 10p that was supposed to run for about 4.5 hours. Just after midnight BYE quit.

The last 25 seconds of log file looked like this:

I attached the full log file from that time. I appear to get a bunch of these Parameter=4 and Parameter=7 DEBUG events. Might this be the cause. Any thoughts?

Thank you!

Mystery solved. It looks like it was the Microsoft automatic Windows Update client. I changed settings to say that computer is typically in use from 6p through 8a (as opposed to "normal" business hours). I also set it to ask to do a restart after update rather than automatic.

Bummer I didn't investigate more closely earlier this month because it just happened to me again last night!

It is probably less a cause and more an effect of something else going on. They are in the log several times throughout the session.

The following sequence is confusing. It starts with a 2 minute image at 00:01:39 and ends with the image being created at 00:01:42. I am not sure how you  could capture and download a 120 second exposure 3 seconds after you started it. I must be not understanding the log correctly. The only thing that makes sense is that it is starting the next exposure before downloading the last one. I did not know that BYE did that.

The only things that I could suggest are to look at the tail end of the log file from the crashed session. There may also be some information in the Windows Event Log.

Thanks. The log file lines I posted were the tail end of the BYE log file. However, I'll track down the Windows Event Log.
