Can't set jpg quality

svtdoug

Question

Just upgraded to 3.1.3 from 3.0.0.  I have been shooting aurora and other night scenes and I need to adjust the jpg quality for various reasons, space, ease of processing, and sutibility to audience.  But when I set the jpg quality in my Canon XSi to M or S, BYE overrides that setting and switches it back to L.  Is this a bug, or a forced judgement call on BYE?  Would very much like to be able to control quality manually without it being overridden by BYE.  Is this possible?

BTW, loyal user and love BYE for astro imaging.

Thanks,

Nothing as changed in 3.0.0 versus 3.1.3 for image quality :)

Go to Settings and set the image quality to IN-CAMERA and BYE will leave it alone... whatever you set manually is what BYE will use.  You probably did set this setting in 3.0.0 in the past :)

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Thanks Guy very much!  I overlooked that setting.  Yes, it works as I had hoped.

BTW, I do you RAW for astrophotography where I am stacking and processing.  But for casual night scenes which will end up on the web, much easier for me to shot jpg.
