Not able to use Liveview in Frame&Focus mode

I am using a Canon 6D MarkII.  I can connect rapidly to the camera from BYE.  When I go to Frame&Focus mode, the log tells me that "Unable to set LiveviewAutoFocusMode, current setting is assumed".  I have rebooted several times, rechecked my settings for manual focus and setting the switch to live view.  Otherwise, I am able to budge my mount, and use the OTA focuser without a hitch.  Any ideas about where I am going wrong?

For some newer cameras, the Canon SDK and BYE cannot use LiveView with the camera's default setting for LiveView Auto Focus. Neither can BYE change it. You need to change the setting to something other than Face+Tracking by using the camera's menus on the LCD screen before plugging the USB cable in. Try different settings until you find one that BYE can work with. I cannot tell you which one works because the options vary by model.

Thank you.  It was on "Smooth zone", not "Face + Tracking", so I will try "Live 1-point AF".  Hopefully we will have a clear night soon!!

I would suggest sorting out your LiveView issue BEFORE you get a clear night.

Put a lens on the camera and test it with your laptop at the kitchen table during the day, so you have practiced on how to use the software and are confident of how things will work when the sky conditions are right for imaging.
