Drift align for collimation

Question

Any advice about using the drift align reticle for secondary alignment/collimation?, thinking about replicating with BEOS + Mitre what is described in this video:

 

 

Found a thread about this in the older yahoo support group but can't access it....

For DSO Imaging, Newts make up at least 50% of the Scope Population (especially if you add in those hardy souls who image with a Dob).  The rest is primarily Refractors (widefield and the more expensive large 4-5in aperture APOs), with a smattering of SCT and MCT.

 

It seems the Reticule idea would need to have a "adjustable radius" circular component.

 

In attempting to use a heavier DSLR in place of the very light-weight WebCam, I wonder how much one would be defeated by the need to also fight Focuser Droop...
