Zoom On Dsos?

PeterCPC

Question

First my apologies if this has already been asked.

I have used the 5X zoom feature to enlarge images of planets during capture and wondered if there is any way to use this when imaging DSOs? Sometimes you want the widefield view but sometimes it would be good to be able to zoom in e.g. globular clusters.

Is there any way to do this?

Peter,

The 5X zoom feature of BYE's Planetary mode is a feature of Canon's LiveView functionality, so is not available for "shuttered", long exposures.

Cropping and resizing of DSO images is typically done in post processing.  It is standard functionality that should be part of any image processing application.
