Just found out--it won't load a TIF but will a JPEG

file too big?

Creating a TIFF file with BYE/BYN is just there for convenience.

LOADING a TIFF file with BYE/BYN is not a supported function.

BYE/BYN are DSLR optimized software and works best with NEF (Nikon) or CR2/CR3 (Canon) image files.  You need to load a NEF file, not a TIFF.

The mask framing is meant to allow you to frame your current session as close as possible (visually) to a previous session... so ideally you need to take a picture from that previous session to load with the mask framing button... and that is the .NEF file you need to load.
