Question

Dear,

I'm using BYEOS in combination with a CANON EOS 1100D with a standard USB cable.

  • Connecting  EOS1100D with  BYEOS it does connect.
  • However when starting imaging I receive the message DSUSB cable error Cable not fond.
  • The strange thing is that in the beginning using BYEOS it did work?

Meantime I understand that using a standard USB seems to be the problem. Please advice where to buy the correct cable? or a clear diagram how to make a DSUSB interface cable.

One remark with respect to BYEOS manual and possible improvement please include a writing about the type of cable since DSUSB is not a general USB cable ast least as far I understand.

Looking forward to hear from you,

Kind regards,

Brinks

Your camera does not need a DSUSB cable to shoot BULB exposures with BYE. If you are trying to use Mirror Lock, according to the camera support grid, Mirror Lock is not supported for your camera. If you make sure that you choose Camera USB for your Cable Support option and 0 for Mirror lock, you should be fine.

You can confirm this yourself by reviewing the camera support grid. What camera support grid you ask...Go into the Store area of this site and on to the BYE product page. Scroll down a bit to the tabs and select the Cameras tab. This page also has links to 2 external sites that sell DSUSB cables.

To help other users, please choose a topic names for any future posts that describe your issue rather use than your name for the topic. Also, always qualify your issue with your camera model, the BYE version number and your license type.

Thanks!
