Canon SL1 Dust delete

hefy_jefy

Question

This is a feature of the Canon Rebel SL1 (and others? - I don't know)

The procedure sounds very much like the procedure for acquiring a "flat"

"Shoot a solid white object with the lens in manual set to infinity....

... the dust delete frame is automatically applied to all .JPG and .RAW images"

Is this the same as a flat? - do I need to bother with a flat?

Flats are used to remove dust bunnies and to correct vignetting.

Turn dust delete OFF, take flats, and never look back.
